OptimÚt is a one-person project
How it started
We were planning a family trip when I realised there was no app that could simply tell me which vignette I'd need to reach a given town. I would have just been guessing — either paying for more than I needed, or missing exactly the one I actually needed along the way. So I decided to build it myself: an app that tells you, in seconds, exactly which vignette you need for a given destination.
Who I am
I work in finance, not as a developer. I taught myself to code during COVID, over about a year, entirely on my own. I drive around 10,000 km a year myself, so this was a real, recurring problem for me too. I build OptimÚt entirely on my own.
Where the project stands
This is a very fresh project — I built the first version in about two weeks. I've tested the fundamentals thoroughly, but for the really complex, real-world travel situations, I need your help and experience too. I hope it ends up being as useful to you as I imagined it could be.
